Printerfriendly Version

From Raleigh or Washington
Take I-40 east to Wilmington, NC. Make NO TURNS, and you’ll find that the road will eventually take you straight to Carolina Beach. Once you reach the north side of Wilmington, I-40 becomes NC 132 (College Road) through the city. Then, it merges with NC 421 (Carolina Beach Road), which goes straight to “the beach”.

Once you cross the bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway, continue through the town of Carolina Beach for 1.1 miles. Along the way, you will go through 5 sets of stop-lights. One block past the 5th stop-light, turn right onto Raleigh Ave. (there is a BB&T bank on the corner). 205 Raleigh Ave., the Island-Time Institute is the second building on your left (immediately behind the bank).

From Charlotte or Lumberton:
Take NC 74 to Wilmington. As soon as you cross the bridge over the Cape Fear River in Wilmington, turn right on to NC 421 at the first stoplight at the base of the bridge. Follow NC 421 to Carolina Beach.
